As the time for the start of DLMOOC draws nearer (T minus 20 days!), registration is growing, and we now have over 1,300 participants.
As I look at the registered participants, I am reminded of one of the delights of open and online: we have a diverse group of interesting folks participating from around the world. Here are some quick stats.
- We have participants in 66 countries.
- Thirty-nine percent of our participants are from outside the United States.
- The primary role in education cited by most participants is teacher (40%). We also have administrators (19%), instructional coaches (8%), university faculty (5%), students (K-12 and university), parents, and others.
- Of those who work in K-12, we have participants who are rural, urban, and suburban; ones from private schools, charter schools, and public schools; and folks from elementary, middle, and high school level.
We know that all this diversity is going to lead to one interesting MOOC!
