Dear DLMOOC participants,
It’s week 4 of DLMOOC! This week we’re looking at personalized learning, student voice and choice. All the resources and activities for this week are available here.
- This week, our suggested resources include a video that shows how Edvisions schools co-plan projects with students and an article from Pedro Noguera about asking our students how to improve our schools.
- Our panel discussion this Monday, Feb. 10 at 4pm Pacific (Los Angeles) will feature Keven Kroehler, Executive Director, Edvisions Schools; Kathleen Cushman, journalist and author of Fires in the Mind; Brandon Wiley, Executive Director, Asia Society; Alison Cook-Sather, Professor of Education, Bryn Mawr College, and editor of “Teaching and Learning Together in Higher Education”; and Samantha Alander, a student from the Minnesota New Country School.
- Our “Lens in the Classroom” live event on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 4pm Pacific (Los Angeles) will feature an in depth discussion with students about what deeper learning means to them.
- We hope you’ll share your ideas about bringing learner voice and choice into our learning environments. Please post your experiences in our G+ community or add them to the Deeper Learning Story Bank.
We also want to make you aware of the Deeper Learning conference, which will be on March 26-28 at High Tech High in San Diego, California. You can find out more about this premier international event here. Let us know if you’ll be there, so we can organize a DLMOOC meet-up!
